Belonging, identity, and place
Hawaiian cultural practices and values support reconnection to story, community, dignity, and purpose.
Pearl Haven provides individualized residential treatment for youth impacted by sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, trafficking, and related complex trauma. Confirmed trafficking is not required for referral consideration, and treatment duration is based on clinical need and progress—not a predetermined timeline.
Serving youth from O‘ahu, Neighbor Islands, and communities across the country when specialized treatment is the right fit.
A distinctive place to heal
Located near the shores of O'ahu, Pearl Haven was created for young people who have experienced complex trauma or are diagnosed with serious emotional and behavioral disturbances. For those who need more than traditional treatment alone. Here, trauma-informed clinical care is held within the rhythm of Hawai'i and a community trained to see the whole person.
Grounded in nature, culture, and place
Trauma-informed, evidence-based care
Common First Questions
Pearl Haven serves youth with complex trauma resulting from sexual trauma, including sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, and trafficking. A confirmed trafficking determination is not required.
There is no single required timeline. Treatment duration is individualized according to clinical need, progress, safety, payer authorization, and transition readiness.
We understand the desire to keep youth close to home. When specialized treatment is not available nearby, Pearl Haven works intentionally to maintain family, community, educational, and transition connections throughout care.
Talk with us before ruling placement out. Pearl Haven works with placing agencies, Medicaid programs, health plans, and insurers and can pursue Single Case Agreements when appropriate.
Initial reluctance can reflect fear of the unknown, prior placement experiences, or concern about leaving home. Pearl Haven can help the youth understand what the program is like and what to expect before a placement decision is finalized.
You do not need to complete a referral packet to begin a conversation. Talk with our team about clinical fit, treatment duration, distance, youth readiness, funding, or the referral process.

Our program
Healing at Pearl Haven combines clinical care with experiential programs that help youth rebuild trust, confidence, and connection. Through equine therapy, surf, music, arts and culture, culinary experiences, and gardening, young people are supported through a continuum of care designed to foster long-term healing and resilience.
The healing power of place
Pearl Haven should feel set apart: protected, beautiful, clinically serious, and deeply human. Ocean, land, culture, and community surround the clinical work so restoration can be practiced in real life, not only discussed in treatment.
