Who we serve
Pearl Haven is a specialized residential treatment program for youth with complex trauma resulting from sexual trauma. This may include sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, trafficking, and the related emotional, behavioral, relational, safety, and attachment challenges that can follow. A youth does not need a confirmed trafficking history or criminal case to be considered for referral.
Many youth referred to Pearl Haven have experienced repeated instability, disrupted relationships, high-risk behavior, substance use, school challenges, runaway behavior, or prior placements that did not fully address the underlying trauma. Admission decisions are individualized and based on whether Pearl Haven can safely and appropriately meet the youth’s treatment needs.
Pearl Haven works with placing agencies, Medicaid programs, health plans, and insurers to identify case-specific authorization and funding pathways. Single Case Agreements may be negotiated when appropriate. Our team can discuss the youth’s payer situation and help determine the next step.
Pearl Haven serves youth ages 11–19 who have experienced complex trauma or who are diagnosed with serious emotional and behavioral disturbances (SEBD). We specialize in complex PTSD and co-occurring mental health conditions, with clinical staff trained in EMDR, DBT, and Neurofeedback.
We serve youth from across Hawai'i and accept national referrals. Our intake team coordinates directly with placing agencies, DHS, juvenile justice systems, and family attorneys across the country.
Pearl Haven provides a 24/7 residential treatment level of care with licensed clinical staff, accredited on-site education, and a full spectrum of experiential and therapeutic programming.
